Call up a dragnet, comb the whole area, my DX was stolen! I know it may not do any good to use this, seeing as how it's country-wide, but just in case. God, my bike means everything to me. I think I'll go off my block 'till I get this fixed. IF you do see it (a shot in the dark), it's got saddlebags, Wacky Wheels, etc. My name's on the back of the seat on a little chrome plate-property of George-Dallas, Texas. Please help!

Sold as a pair only. I have a 1949 Raleigh Clubman, with 1949 stamped Sturmey 3 speed hub,
and front dynohub. All original details, original green finish and decals, very old 531 decal,
Bluemels ivory colored "noweight" mudguards with Raleigh logo,
matching bluemels ivory pump with raleigh logo, front light attached
to right fork blade, rear red light. brooks pro saddle, alloy drop bars with
rubber-fitted raleigh-logo green lower-bar cover, on one side only. Steel raleigh brakes, stem, cranks, seatpin.
26 inch Dunlop stainless rims in perfect immaculate condition, these are sweet rims.

sweet, but unfortunately faded. Beautiful headbadge, sturmey 1950 3speed hub, alloy mudguards and matching alloy
"britannialloy" pump. bike has "bonderized, for rust resistance" decal. Brooks b72 saddle, nice original stem, incorrect schwinn mustache bars,
bautiful oval-cross-section steel crankset with "N" on back (nervar ?). I purchased these from the original
owners, and older couple who bought them in 1950 in england while students. Sold as a pair only
for $800. thanks for reading.

Just curious how much my bike might be worth. It's a red & white 1950 Schwinn DX with a tank, rack, Rocket Ray, and spring fork. On the back above the rack are a set of large leather saddlebags. On the handlebars are two "Safety Mirrors", a Cadet Speedometer, red & white streamers, and an American Flag bell. On the bottom of both fenders are a set of "Tingley Mud Flaps" and fenders are pinstriped. There are four red-jeweled hub caps by Schwinn. Feather chainguard. And on the front wheel reside a pair of red & white "Wacky Wheels". Whitewall Lightning Darts. Rear taillight with "Make-a-Lite" generator. And on the back wheel are a set of ELGIN skirt guards I had custom painted and fit to match the Schwinn perfectly. The whole entire bike is mint as well as the accessories. How much do you think it's worth, stuff and all?

Hello:
I just purchased a 1988 Derosa with a Campagnolo C Record deraillieur.
I'm new at this, and I don't know if this bike qualifies as a "vintage"
bike; but it's a dream to ride. Unfortunately, my mechanic tells me
it needs a new positioning plate spring (a small spring in the
barrel of the deraillieur). He also tells me that it will be very
difficult to find. Does anyone have any information as to where
such parts may be offered for sale?

It was repainted professionally a long time ago, but paint is still lusterous, new handlebars, N.O.S. multi-colored streamers, recovered original red seat with guard rail, new bugle horn, good Sturmey Archer 3-speed (no cable or selector), original rims (need to be rechromed along with the original internal kickstand and sprocket). Bike comes with a nonworking but cool looking battery powered bullet headlight with plastic lens and a PROPELLER drilled into the center, and a generator taillight hookup. The whole bike and accessories come completely packed in a box, and sent to you. $55.00 or best offer. ALSO, I have a mint condition Schwinn Krate speedometer. This is very cherry! The glass is 100% clear, cable is fine, needle does'nt wobble at all, chrome shines beautifully, and the odometer is incredibly accurate. Only thing is the driver bracket is broken. Mint! $25.00. Email if interested!

Ranger Bike, serial number 013817, ballooner, with tank, rack, etc.. Need a decent set of fenders for a restoration. Front Fender is 36.5 inches long front to back edge and 5 inches wide. Rear Fender is 46 inches long and must have the clip for the dropstand. Braces would be nice but not necessary as mine aren't too bad. If anyone knows what year this bike is, I'd really like to know. Sorry, it's not for sale either. Thanks.

FOR SALE:   Vintage record albums for c/d burners posted by: A.L.F. on 3/7/00 at 7:27:28 PM
Modern technology now permits you to customize your c/d collection to include a variety of your favorite songs on any one c/d. Enjoy old roads,a cold beverage, cruising along on your classic wheels to the tunes of yesterday. Some mellow jazz to warm up,a few lengthy southern rock numbers to get the blood pumping, then maybe some kickin punk number to carry you across that anarobic threshhold. Years ago I enjoyed listening to tapes on my old walkman while knocking out two-hundred plus training miles a week, but times they are a changin. Let me know what you need. I`ve been cycling since my college days in the early seventies, raced awhile in the mid eighties, now I work on em in my garage. I started my record collecting more than ten years ago,and have seen some real classic wax pass thru my hands. I can ship you what I have and can find pretty much anything else. Prices are reasonable and or negotiable as certain items may be original issue and cost more to replace.Buzz me if you`re interested.

I have a 1966-1969 (?) men's Raleigh Superbe with the dyna-hub generator, Brooks saddle, etc. (I bought the bike new in 1968, but I think it was a previous year's model.)

It is in good condition, and except for replaced headlight and tail light, has all original equipment.

Does this bike have any value above and beyond your typical garage sale bike?

I would consider selling it to someone who would appreciate it!

WANTED:What is a Black Phantom worth??? posted by: Mary on 3/3/00 at 8:38:49 PM
I came across a Black Phantom bike in MINT condition in a department store dispay 10 years ago and have been inquiring with the display department all this time! They called me the other day and said they are willing to sell it. They want $1,100.00 plus tax. I really want this bike so I don't want to play games but since it is an emotional buy I don't want to be taken advantage of either. What would be a reasonable and fair price to negotiate back to them which they said they would consider. The store people who want to buy it said they only want to pay $100 and the display man said he will put it on EBAY befor he sells it for $100.

I need to get back to them on Saturday ...this Saturday!

Thanks for your help!

WANTED:   Plea for Schwinn Dealer Specifications posted by: Bob Hufford on 2/24/00 at 2:55:07 PM
Who out there has the Schwinn Dealer Specification Books (or whatever they're called -- the ones that list the bikes with the parts used -- as seen in the Collectible Schwinn Sting-Rays and Collectible Schwinn Middleweights books put out by Gordon/Hurd) and the dealer price lists per year? I'm trying to gather together the specs on the Schwinn drop-bar lightweights from 1960 - 1980. I'd be happy with a subset for just Super Sports from the years '64 - '73 for a start.

I know each of these years is probably represented by you literature collectors out there (as a whole). Gordon/Hurd will, in all likelyhood, not be publishing a book for us admirers of the Varsity, Continental, Super Continental, Sierra, Sprint, Superior, Super Sport, Sport Tourer, LeTour, Super LeTour, Volare, Voyageur, and Paramount (and what ever other models I've left out) While were at it we could possibly toss in the Breezes and Suburbans.

With Schwinn's permission and the resources of those of you with the books, we could put a Collectible Schwinn Lightweight reference book together for very little cost.

I've checked with Schwinn and they don't have this information.

Help out the hobby! Share the wealth!
