Hello,
I have for sale one NOS set of white Skyway Tuff Wheel II's. They are the freewheel type, and the freewheel is included. These Tuff Wheels were on an un-used old school display bike that I recently bought, and I decided to go with spoked wheels instead. $60 delivered is the price. E-mail me if interested, and I can give you plenty of references. Thanks!

FOR SALE:   NOS Old School Mongoose KOS Kruiser...Lower Price posted by: Mark on 4/14/00 at 4:10:07 PM
Hello,
I have an NOS old school Mongoose Kos Kruiser for sale. It is chromoly in color, and it is mint, NOS. The frame and fork are original Mongoose, and the all of the other parts are quality slightly newer NOS parts (including never used Mongoose items from a few years ago). $300 delivered. I am helping an old bike store by selling off his old inventory. He hooked me up with some great old BMX stuff, so I am returning the favor. Originally, the owner wanted more money, but I told him to lower the price if he wants to move the bike. Here are the parts on the KOS Kruiser: NOS chromoly Mongoose KOS Kruiser f/f (1980), newer NOS Mongoose stem, Mongoose cruiser bars, Mongoose grips, Mongoose chainwheel, bullet proof one piece crank, black ATB pedals, 26 inch rims with Kenda 26 inch tires. This bike is chrome with black trim. It dates from 1980, has all original stickers, and the bike is MINT, never used. It was built up from the original f/f set which cost $240 back in 1980. Again, $300 delivered. For references, look on e-Bay under user name HutchBMXusa (me). I have a lot of feedback, and it is all positive. Also, I can e-mail you the names of some wonderful people I have dealt with on this discussion page. I no longer have access to a digital camera, so I have no pics. If you know what this cruiser looks like, you will receive a mint, NOS beautiful bike. E-mail me if interested.

Have an old PK and early Landing Gear forks

fork is in good shape. Frame dropouts have
some gouges from use but no cracks.
Frame was natural finish but has been sprayed.
Frame and forks will need to be repainted.
Would be a cool project.

Looking for cook bros. and old redline.
Other stuff before 1980.

Any old school gatherings going down at Desoto TX nationals ???? Also need straight legged GJS fork and old straight legged Robinson fork.{no leading axle} Need many, many rear hubs. The Taiwan made Mongoose in posting earlier sounded like one of the freestyle bikes made in Taiwan so it probably wasn't a good one like a Decade Pro, but I don't collect freestyle.

This weekend at the dump I saw a mongoose with a unique frame (if you can call any of this BMX stuff unique!). It had an extra loop which started where the top tube attaches to the seat post and continued parallel to the ground and out over the back wheel for maybe 6". It was painted the same color as the frame and definately a stock setup. The bike was made in Taiwan, so I left it there.

Should I have grabbed it?

AGE / VALUE:   Hutch stuff for sale posted by: Todd on 4/9/00 at 3:36:42 PM
USA made Hutch expert frame (1/2" shorter than Pro) in white. I took it in trade, was told nos, am not sure if it is. It has been built, but is in excellent condition. There are no stickers on it. I'm not gonna call it nos, BUT it would be the best looking used frame you've ever seen. I also have a pro Hutch fork for it. Originally black. Well the black started to peel, so I removed the rest of the paint down to the chrome underneath. It is brand new, nos. I have original Hutch stickers for it. I left the steerer tube black (with Hutch sticker on it). I also have some nos Hutch bars in chrome. I think they must be from overseas, 'cause the welds are not as nice as the frame and fork. I'm looking to sell it here first, rather than hassle with ebay. I figure it's worth at least $150 for everything. If you agree, then contact me. I'd consider partial trades for 80's race stuff. I am especially looking for a 1" Landing Gear fork, Auburn fork, various ODI signature series grips, STING COMP. FRAME DECALS, GHP pads/jersey/stickers, SE stickers, and a Haro series 2 #plate. Thanks.

Does anyone one on this discussion board know where to get Brake Pads in a Dia-Compe 990 style in White? I've looked everywhere locally (Minneapolis/St. Paul) and via the "web" and can't seem to locate any in White... I believe Dia-Compe makes some in White, "Dan's Competition" even shows a picture of the White ones but when I called to order some, they didn't have any in stock and didn't know when they would be getting some more in.
If anyone could help or lead me in the right direction to finding some I would greatly appreciate it!

MISC:   For trade: NOS mint Haro Team Sport posted by: Mark on 3/19/00 at 2:04:28 PM
One more item for trade only:

1 mint NOS, never ridden Haro Team Sport model (1987 I think). It is chrome, turquoise and black. It has ALL original components including: Haro Group 1 tubular chromoly 3 piece cranks, Peregrine HP-48 wheels, Dia-Compe Nippon brakes, folding front standing platforms. The original Haro paper work is still tied around the handle bars. A very sharp looking bike. I tried to sell this before, but I am tired of dealing with idiots who I send actual pictures to, only to get no response. A big waste of time! If you know this bike, it was one of (if not the) most expensive complete freestyle bikes back. I believe the Haro Master team model was the same price. I would be interested in trading up or down toward NOS Hutch frame set(s) or Hutch parts (U.S. made - no Pro Raider, Taiwan made Trickstar, or Windstlyer). If interested, please e-mail me. This is an awesome bike, but I am not a Haro fan. Thanks!

Travis,
Sorry for offending you. I guess I made you so upset that you couldn't put together any coherent thoughts.
I was under the impression that this was a site for the exchange of old school bmx ideas, parts, info, etc..and that the
"Stephen" person was ridiculing David.
Gosh, I never knew that this exchange took place on another board and was being reposted here for a second round of laughs. It really is funny now. Write back when you calm down. BTW, you are very insightful in noticing my problem with humor, sometimes
even I can't even tell when I'm using sarcasm. But, to tell you the truth, I'm not very funny, but even I believe that the "mother" jokes are more than a little tired.. Again, I'm sorry for

AGE / VALUE:   the Dallas controversey...part III posted by: pat on 3/13/00 at 5:28:04 PM
Hey Dallas, JMC went out of business in about 1985. They were located in Azusa Ca. JMC stood for John Mellencamp Cyclery, John closed down the company when his wifes' health was failing. I heard he lives in Missouri with Bill G. and won't admit to having a BMX company. There are no websites or anything like that. As far as value goes I've seen them go for as little as $10.00 to $350.00 for a frame and fork. So, realistically, your prices are not too high. I heard from Dean that your stuff is nice also. Good luck with selling it! It all depends on the value the buyer puts on it. I have two, a mini and a Black Shadow. The frames were cutting edge and pretty cool but most of them cracked. I would check the one you have around the downtube and headtube. Does yours have a round downtube or is it oval? Does your frame have a welded on seatpost clamp? and does it have the two chainstays going directly into the back of the bottom bracket or is there a square piece of steel welded behind the bottom bracket. I can help you figure out the age of your frame by these kinds of things. In have a bunch of ads I can look at. Decals are pretty difficult to get but I might be able to get some depending which ones you need. Dallas, I appreciate your honesty in posting, and please hold the Reline 3 piece cranks for me, or we can work out a trade!

AGE / VALUE:   Vector Mk2 posted by: Greg G. on 3/12/00 at 6:47:05 PM
Further to my last message on VDC changa and Vector Mk2 race frame/forks:
I used to ride both of these in the mid eighties and I am currently building up a picture gallery of all my old rides that I should have taken photos of at the time.
The Changa was an odd looking beast with very oversized top and downtubes and the head tube went through the ends. You may remember VDC's 'Monkey Bars', well it looked like that but in frame form!?
The Vector Mk2 was also slightly unusal in that it had twin oval downtubes and was one of the first, if no THE first frames availible in black chrome (How good was THAT?).
If anyone has any photos or pics from BMXA, (perhaps you used to own one of these too) or can tell me where they were in CA. they were made, when the companies went bust etc.

Hey Fellow Freestylers:

I am an old school freestlyer/bmxer from NYC. I have a great bikestore down here in Miami that has some nice old school rides. I just bought a diamondback Mike Dominguez signature bike! I can't wait to hit the halfpipe on it. If you want an NOS freestyler from the 80s, email me. I've got Hutch, Redline (RL 20 II), GT and would love to put these bikes on the streets. Catch me before it goes elsewhere,

I am 36 years old and have settled pretty well into a freestyle lifestyle, but still felt that something was missing.

About a year ago I climbed up into my attic and pulled out my 1986 Huffy Stu Tompson. I spent the better part of two days polishing all of the chrome on it. Now it looks like a new bike.

This bike has a 1986 frame and 1987 fork, both in chrome. The bars are Haro with the lowered crossbar in chrome. The stem is an SR Spin Tech with built in rotor, this thing works great! Headset is a Tioga Beartrap II, it still doesn't come loose. The cranks are SR tubular chrome moly, they still haven't bent. The wheels are Araya 48's with Suzue hubs and they still run true, got them from Frankford bicycle back in 87. I have the small short GT axle pegs in front and rear and have chrome framestands on the back. Front brakes are Dia Compe 883 Nippon and the rear is an ACS 890. The seatpost is a Dyno drainpipe and the seat was a Shotgun III. I finally had to replace the seat with some cheap thing I found at a local shop.

This bike was my whole life for so long, I can't believe I neglected it for nearly 13 years. After a few weeks of riding I found that I could pull off most of my old tricks, tailwhips, boomerangs, rockwalks, and several other old school balance tricks. When was the last time you saw someone do a gut lever?

Anyway, I got into the mood for a new bike and went to the shop where I used to hang out and bought a 2000 Huffy Enigma. It is a super nice bike but just doesn't handle the way my old Huffy does. I'm wondering now if I should just stick to riding my old bike for money now.

I have a few friends that are riding with me now as well as some neighborhood kids and I have somehow convinced them that we need to build a halfpipe on top of my trailer. We should have the beast built by this summer. Man, just like the old days.

Live to ride, ride to live.

If any of you other old school riders are near Macon county, Georgia I'd really like to hear from you.

Brandon,

If you reread my post I did not say anything nasty about you. Although your post was very aggresive towards me. I never said that I hate you or am jealous so I don' t know where you are getting that unless you an expert at reading between the lines. A bunch of people were posting with questions about who you are and what you are about and I posted what I was told by that dealer about you. So if you are pissed off with me so be it. I will not lose sleep over it and as far as needing something you have highly unlikely as I will not pay that kind of money on old bike parts. I'll sell off my collection first.

Here is what I have pieced together about 80sbmx on ebay. The word is he bought out an Austrailian distributor for about $14,000 worth of NOS SE gems and other rarities. He hit a local shop near me for 7 huge boxes of NOS goodies. boxes were big and full. The shop owner told me who was getting the stuff(80sBMX) and that it was every thing he had left in inventory. I doubt that as he has been telling everyone for years that he had nothing left but he is always selling stuff on ebay where 80sbmx must have made the connection. I was also told that there are many more framesets coming up on ebay from our friend and his reserve is higher now that the frames are breaking the $300-$350 barrier. This info is gossip but my sources are good - russ

I'm sorry I even wasted my time reading all of the nonsense regarding Bill (real or fake). I've dealt with the real one. No complaints here. I appreciate any and all help anyone posts here. I'm sorry to see anyone turned off of this, or any other, bmx site. There's no reason for it. On one hand, it does stink when the frame of your dreams is pushed out of your price range on e-bay, but keep looking, you'll find another. And if you don't like high prices, don't pay them! But also don't be offended when people start wondering/talking about who/what/when/where/and why's regarding a huge stockpile of classic bmx stuff! I think most anyone still into riding/buying/racing/talking bmx after the age of 18 is in it for the fun of it. Let's get back to trading stories, and trading bikes, not lies.

I have an old U.S.Hutch Trickstar F&F that I'm looking to part with. Now before you get too excited, let me say it's in near mint shape. It's been well cared for. I'll start w/ the fork. The fork was bent, but It's been straightened, and sandblasted. The Frame has been repainted countless times (as had the fork), the frame's rear brake bridge has also unfortunately been broken off. The area surrounding has been sandblasted to prep it for welding. The current color is some odd textured purple, real ugly. Anyone interested in it can e-mail me for a photo. It'd take some work, but someone might be able to make something of it. As far as what I'm asking, basically make me an offer, I'd rather trade, I'm mostly interested in mid 80's F/S, and I realize this is a rare treasure.

Asking $175.00 plus shipping obo for the Rampar and $75.00 for the Sears. Also have a 1980 Schwinn Tornado BMX in good shape, including the front number plate and the cantilever frame plate, all original asking $175.00 plus shipping obo for it. I've got a chance to pick up an all chrome 24 inch Kuwahara bmx bike, real nice shape and was wondering what a fair price for one is? Always looking to trade this bmx stuff for sting rays or offbrand muscle bikes or parts. I may be getting another Sears old school bmx with full suspension and a 3 speed twist shifter. I'll let you all know. Thanks in advance for your help and the space.

But then he got over his love for old school and started selling stuff. He always thinks he's better than everyone else and his bullsh*t fools some of them guys. This really pissed me off though. This is the second time I've seen him have a friend put an opening bid on his item on ebay! Last time he said his friend hadn't known he was putting it up even though they talk evry day. I've come across a bunch of new or new old stock BMX parts. The main brands I noticed were PK Ripper, SE Racing and Odessey. There are frames, pedals, pads, saddles, stems, seat posts, etc. Lots of stuff, and it looks so new I'm wondering if this stuff is still being produced and maybe it isn't hard to find.

I'd appreciate any tips you folks can give me. I'll be heading back to this place next week, and hope to be more informed. Are there any special bits I should be looking for? Is this stuff common? High end? Low End? etc.

Thanks for any help.

AGE / VALUE:   mint NOS Haro Sport Team model for sale posted by: Mark on 2/16/00 at 7:29:07 PM
Hello,
I have for sale on mint, NOS, never used Haro Sport Team model from 1987. It is an awesome bike, and it still has the Haro factory manuals attached to the handlebars. Here are the parts and color scheme: frame is turquoise, black, and chrome. Fork is chrome. Cranks are chrome Haro three piece, tubular type (Group 1), mounted on a black and silver Peregrine cd chain wheel. Wheels are Peregrine 48 HP, with Peregrine hubs. Tires are white Peregine. Brakes are Nippon type in silver. Seat is white Viscount 'Dominator'. Seat post clamp is silver and black Peregrine. Handlebars are black, turquoise, and chrome old Haro freestyle bars. Grips are black AME tri grips. This bike is COMPLETELY stock with items from 1987. Again, it is in mint, un-used condition. I have excellent color photos that I can mail out to any people that know this bike and are sincere in their interest to buy it. Please e-mail me a mailing address, and I will mail out photos. In 1987, this bike retailed for $699.00. With a price like that, its no wonder that the bike never sold. I paid half of that. I am taking reasonable offers. Next to the Haro Master from 1986-1987, this is probably the most desireable old school Haro freestyle bike out there. Thank You!

Hello old school experts,
I have a couple of quick questions that someone can help me with possibly. First of all, I am building up an old supergoose frame set. I want to make sure I am using the correct parts for a mid-eighties bike. Would an old school BMX bike have had ACS Z-rims and redline 3 piece cranks?, or were these rims and cranks strictly for freestyle bikes? Thank you.

I have an old Hutch Trickstar F&F that I'm looking to part with. Now before you get too excited, let me say it's in poor shape. It's been well abused. I'm also not sure if it's an American or overseas Hutch. Anyone interested in it can e-mail me for a photo. It'd take some work, but someone might be able to make something of it. As far as what I'm asking, basically make me an offer, I'd rather trade, I'm mostly interested in mid 80's F/S, but I realize this isn't too much of a treasure.

Hello,
I have the following frame and fork sets and NOS parts for sale: 1) MCS Styler Freestyle bike frame and fork (1985 I believe) NOS with other MCS parts. This is a chrome, American made frame and fork set, and it was considered a pretty radical design even back then. 2) white Dyno freestyle fork (mid eighties), mint NOS with guides for brake cable. This must have been a fork for an expensive Dyno bike, and it has a light blue and yellow 'D' close to the drop out. 3) blue NOS GT Pro Performer handlebars, with blue, pink, and white writing. All items are new old stock. I have available one picute of each of these three items. I will mail (post office) each one of these pictures out to people who are SERIOUSLY interestred in these items. First come first serve for the pics. E-mail me only if you are serious. The bars are $15, the Dyno fork is $15, and the MCS Styler frame, fork, stem, seat post clamp, seat post, and handlebars is $200 for all. Bike never been used. Built for display only. E-mail me if interested, and I will mail only one pic of each item to one person each.

-ALSO-
have one NOS Skyway BMX Tuff Wheel II in green, front wheel with metal flanges - $35.

one set of NOS old school ARAYA rims (20x1.75) in red (rim only - pair never built - $35 for set

two sets of NOS Skyway Tuff pads (freestyle type) in yellow.
$15 for the set (four un-used pads in package)

Comp Pool tires - white, need to check for tire size.

Hello,
I have found a complete NOS Haro bike, but don't know much about it. It is a black, turqouise, and chrome Haro Sport team issue bike from (19??). It is assembled, but never ridden. It has a nice chromoly frame painted in factory Haro colors, and I can list some components for this 'team' issue. It has chrome Haro Group 1 3-piece crank set on a Peregrine brand compact disk looking chain wheel. Also, it has a set of Peregrine wheels with sealed bearing Peregrine hubs. Peregrine seat post clamp, black and chrome Haro freestyle bars. A black gyro detangler, folding Haro fork stands, and built in frame standers on the rear. I need to find out what year the bike is from, and I also need a fair price. I am looking at $400 for the whole bike. If anyone knows anything about Haro, please post here or e-mail me. Also, is $400 a fair price for an un-touched, mint bike by Haro? Thanks in advance.

How rare are these pedals? I also have many other used period stuff: Many BMX Plus and
BMX action mags from about 1978-1988. A Panda pro-am f/f only. A Patterson f/f 24 in chrome.
A GJS frame only. Two GT F/F one with a small bottem bracket circa 1979. 7-x, 7-b and 7-c rims and sets. One set has a rear
7-c rim and a front 7-b laced to Phil wood hubs. A redline 3 piece gooseneck circa 1977.
A steel STR-1 frame #00093. A Hutch XL 24 complete bike. A lot of other stuff from my BMX days.
I used buy my stuff from Beavers Bicycles aka known as McConnel pro service for a short time
in 1980. I am not a current collector, I just never got rid of my bikes and parts.

Some items I might consider trading for: Hutch aero speed cranks in 180mm with Hutch pedals for my XL-24.
A pair of Graphite Tuff wheels for a 24, I am not sure those were made but I think I have saw them back in early 80's. I have alot of other stuff.

AGE / VALUE:   MCS Styler old school Freestyle bike NOS posted by: Mark on 1/28/00 at 11:05:54 AM
Hello,
I have available an interesting item. It is an MCS brand 'Styler' frame and fork set. This is an NOS set that is chromoly and made in the U.S.A. If you are not familiar with the design, this is a very radical designed freestyle bike. It has built in pegs on the fork, as well as a standing platform on the top tube, and rear frame stands on the rear of the frame. I guesss the tubing could be described as oval, teardrop, and round. It has many quality welds, and this bike frame and fork set inludes the following: frame and fork (chromoly), laid back MCS seat post (chromoly), MX seat post clanp (silver), possibly an MCS 4 bolt stem (silver), headset, and handlebars that look like Skyway E-Z bars, but I believe they are MCS. This bike frame and fork is hanging up high in an old bike store. It is a beautiful piece, with no probelms, and is new old stock. $200 buys the frame and fork, and all the pieces. Currently, the bike has the pieces attached, but no brakes, wheels, cranks, etc. If anyone is seriously interested in this early 1980's freestyle bike, please e-mail me. It has all of the factory stickers as well. It will cost between $20 and $30 to mail all of this. Thank you.

OK, listen up all you freestyle nuts. I went to my aunt & uncles on friday for a party. I was talking to my younger
cousin and he tells me he still has all of his parts in the celar. Well he gave it all to me. 5 or 6 sets of Z-Rims in white,
blue, purple, pink and turquoise (pardon my lack of spelling ability), a mid to late eighties GT freestyle f/f (will post
model name when I figure it out), two DK stems, 5 sets of handle bars, brakes, pedals and all sorts of fun stuff. Most
of the Z-Rims are beat, but I've heard of people restoring them. I will most likely trade most of them. Make me a
trade offer as I am not looking for money, just some more parts for projects.

I need : Hutch seatpost
Hutch seatpost clamp
Old school 24 inch tires
Hutch cruiser bars
Hutch stem
Anything early eighties Redline

Let me know if any of you are interested.....mike

Hello,
A quick question for you to ponder. I was in an older bike shop just around the corner from me. I found an NOS Hutch seat post clamp, and I noticed some mushroom grips. They were in white, yellow, and orange. Does ODI still make standard mushroom grips, or were these boxed sets new old stock? The owner had them marked at $6.95. Thanks.

AGE / VALUE:   polishing posted by: bender on 1/16/00 at 11:04:06 AM
The best way to polish any chrome is with flitz or some high quality polish such as Mothers or Mcquires. First use WD-40 and/or window cleaner to really clean up the area. Then use the finest grit steel wool you can find. Rub with the polish on the spot lightly at first with the wool. Cleaning off the removed rust. You don't want to rub the loosened rust into the chrome. This will give it that chrome swirl look. Now some frames are delicate so be sure to test out all methods on a spot that doesn't show. Ex. inside dropouts, or chrome on fork steerer tube. Another more aggressive method is a Dremel drill with a wire wheel brush this will take off heavy rust fast, and doesn't hurt the chrome. Its spendier since the little wheels at $5 a pop last about 5 mins.

Hello,

A question to throw out. I recently purchased a non descript looking bike that I later found out to be a Skyway T/A in chrome. It is a complete bike, and the only Skyway parts are the frame and fork. It is in incredible condition, and it has some unique handlebars. They are Bob Haro Signature Series, and are a handlebar/stem combination. They are ugly, but in good shape. The stickers on the handlebars are worn, but they could be removed. They are an oddity for sure, but does anyone know about their value? Thank you - Mark.

Wheels are 48 spoke. Has stunt peg bosses in 2 positions tapped into fork and tapped into rear stays. ACS rotator and dual crossbar handlebars to stand on. Also has a long loop behind seat also to stand on. I don't know age or value, but I had a pair of them and sold one dirt cheap. This one is in better shape and could easily be restored with new paint and decals if it is even worth the effort. Anyone with info is greatly appreciated.
